About the Company
We are a newly established maritime company operating a growing fleet of dry bulk carriers, backed by strong ownership and a clear vision for expansion in the global dry bulk sector. We are seeking an experienced Dry Bulk Operator to join our dynamic shore-based team and contribute to the successful management of our vessels.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily vessel operations from fixture to voyage completion.
- Communicate effectively with Masters, Charterers, Agents, Bunker Suppliers, and Port Authorities to ensure smooth voyages.
- Issue voyage orders and provide clear operational instructions to vessels.
- Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption, port calls, deviations, and delays.
- Handle voyage estimates, laytime calculations, and demurrage/despatch settlements.
- Ensure compliance with charter party terms, company policies, and international regulations.
- Maintain accurate and timely operational documentation and reporting.
- Work closely with the Commercial, Technical, and Crewing departments to maximize fleet efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- University degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Operator in a dry bulk shipping company.
- Seagoing experience as a Deck Officer on dry bulk carriers will be considered a strong advantage.
- Thorough knowledge of Charter Parties, Laytime, Voyage Calculations, and Port Operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English and Greek (spoken & written) and in MS Office; familiarity with shipping software (IMOS, Veson, or equivalent) preferred.
